Built in 1960 at Sangermani premises in Lavagna (Italy) from a project of Olin Stephens, Ella attended several races since 1962 always arriving among the first. Ella won in 1992 the Nioularge Trophy in her category (Bermudian Yawls).

Since 1965 the Pierini family, owners of Ella, cures the boat and finally in 2015 made a deep refitting to bring the deckhouse to the original beauty.
